Frequently Asked Questions

A selection of recurring questions you may have.

The weight of the packaging refers to the amount of product mass (PE, BOPP, PET, PP) per square meter. In other words, the weight represents the weight per area of the packaging and is linked to density. A denser material will have a greater weight per area, proportional to the density.

Thickness is the distance between the two sides (thickness of the material), measured in microns (µm) or micrometers.

Both solutions have high performance on the shelf, as their shape keeps the product upright. In the Box Pouch, the product stays upright due to the flat bottom, while in the 4-Weld Pouch, the packaging stays upright due to the weight of the packaged product. Made with high-quality raw materials, it is resistant and preserves the original characteristics of the product, such as its crispness, softness, odor and texture. Its structures provide the elegance of a matte finish and the necessary barrier guarantees against grease, humidity, oxygen and light.

Differences:

  • Only with Box Pouch can we customize with a sealed internal zipper and also a front zipper, which in addition to maintaining the necessary quality, improves the consumer experience.
  • 4-Weld Pouches are not as structured because they do not have a flat bottom like Box Pouches, which is why the bottom molds itself according to the weight of the stored product.

Stand Up Pouch or Shape Pouch due to its sealing and structure to remain horizontal. In addition to the possibility of implementing a spout.

The most popular is the Box Pouch due to its presentation.

We can recommend any of the models we produce for coffee (Stand Up Pouch, Box Pouch, 4-Weld Pouch). The only thing to pay attention to is the structure of the packaging, which must contain metallization to prevent oxidation of the coffee beans.

All models allow the application of a valve.

The volume depends on the density of the stored product, meaning it may vary slightly. However, our volume is standard and is assessed based on the density of the water.

In the printed line, we adapt the packaging to the customer’s product, so the volume is already calculated according to their product for the manufacturing of the packaging.

In the Soulprática line, the volume of each packaging size is in the product description.

Monomaterial line.

Maintaining the efficiency and performance of packaging, but also paying attention to nature, Soulpack developed Monomaterial Packaging. Made with a single type of material, such as polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP), they follow the Closed Recycling Cycle concept and, therefore, contribute significantly to reducing environmental impact.

The Closed Recycling Cycle is a process in which materials are recycled and transformed into new products without losing their original properties. In the case of monomaterial packaging, this cycle is facilitated. Since there is no mixing of raw materials, the layer separation step is eliminated, allowing the material to be recycled in its entirety.

Can be done on all packaging, since it is the change of the components that make up the packaging. Box Pouch, Stand Up Pouch and 4 Welds
Indicated for food and animal feed.

Remember:

Sustainability is the correct disposal of packaging after use so that it can be sorted by a recycling plant. This material, which is laminated with more than one material, needs to undergo a chemical process to be recycled, or if processed together, it can become these ecological tiles, which is what we do with our production leftovers.

All packaging is recyclable, but what happens is that it does not return to the packaging chain; it is recycled into a new product, such as “tiles”. The difference with a structure that contains Green PE is that this packaging has 51% of the polyethylene that has sugarcane as its raw material, which contributes to a better use of natural post-consumer waste.

No, your product will not lose its original texture or flavor. Our packaging has a structure with protective barriers, which ensures that the product remains intact while the packaging is sealed.

The packaging is valid for 2 years, subject to assessment by our quality department, and can be renewed for 2 years.

We work with metal inside the packaging, ensuring protection from light, humidity, grease and oxygen.

The Wipf degassing valve (Wicovalve) originated in Switzerland and is an important accessory for products that release gases after packaging, such as coffee, which is affected by CO² emissions.

This equipment helps to remove gases so that the grain oxidation process is not accelerated and the food does not lose its properties.

The valve has One Way technology, in which only one air flow path is released (it works from the inside out), ensuring that there is no external interaction or contamination with the inside of the product.

Innovative, attractive and functional are just some of the essential characteristics of food packaging that stand out at the point of sale. Flexible packaging offers great versatility for various types of products.

As the name suggests, flexible packaging is defined as its ability to adapt to the shape of the product and ensure safety conditions such as protection from light and other external agents during transportation, in addition to optimizing storage.

Regarding resistance, the combination of two types of flexible films during manufacturing will make all the difference for the storage and packaging of the product, since one of them will be in direct contact with it.

Versatility is the main advantage of using flexible packaging, since a multitude of food products (solid or liquid), hygiene products, cosmetics, medicines and feed can be viewed, loaded, stored, opened and consumed easily.

Food safety is another fundamental point that is covered, since this type of packaging makes it possible to isolate the product from humidity, heat, light, bacteria and other forms of contamination. The use of zippers and safety valves, for example, contributes to greater safety when accessing the contents using the packaging’s “open and close” system and also reduces waste.
